Virtual Nature-Based & Experiential Therapy for Colorado Youth and Adults Practice Policies
I’m so glad you’re here. At Wandering Counseling, I offer virtual counseling designed to help you find clarity, calm, and resilience in your everyday life.
This mental health practice policy outlines important information to help you understand how Wandering Counseling’s virtual services work — so you can feel confident and informed before getting started.
1. Scheduling and Appointments
Booking Sessions: You can easily book and manage your appointments through our secure online platform, Private Pay: Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards securely through SimplePractice.
Receipts & Reimbursement: Upon request, I’ll provide itemized receipts you can submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
3. Cancellations and No-Show Policy
Respecting our time together is part of what makes therapy effective. This practice policy includes clear expectations to help keep things running smoothly.
24-Hour Cancellation: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $75 late cancellation fee.
No-Shows: If you miss a session without giving notice, the full session fee ($119) will be charged.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late will be considered a no-show.
4. Participation and Safety
Virtual Safety: Sessions occur online via a secure HIPAA-compliant platform. Please ensure your child is in a quiet, private, and safe space for each session.
5. Confidentiality
Your Privacy Matters: All sessions are confidential. I will only share information with others when you give written consent—unless I am legally required to do so for safety reasons, such as suspected abuse or risk of harm.
Secure Records: Your counseling records are stored safely and can be accessed through your SimplePractice or Headway portal.
6. Communication
Between Sessions: For non-urgent concerns, you can message me through the SimplePractice client portal or email me at [email protected]. I respond within 48 business hours.
Emergencies: If you’re experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or reach out to the Colorado Crisis Line or 988 Lifeline.
7. Participation Agreement
By engaging in therapy with Wandering Counseling, you agree to these mental health practice policies. This ensures we maintain a safe, respectful, and effective therapeutic environment for everyone involved.
Thank you for reading through this practice policy. If you have any questions, please reach out—I’m here to support you on your journey toward growth, healing, and resilience.
